
Nakanjako NorahLegal Officer
Nakanjako Norah is a Legal Officer at the Center for Food and Adequate Living Rights (CEFROHT). As an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda, she brings a strong legal background to her work, holding a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (PGDLP) from the Law Development Centre-Uganda and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Hons.).
Her professional focus spans public health, sustainable food systems, and the right to adequate food. She supports strategic litigation, policy analysis, and advocacy initiatives aimed at regulating harmful food industry practices and fostering healthier food environments. She actively engages in national efforts to combat non-communicable diseases (NCDs), advocating for legal and policy reforms to address critical nutrient concerns within Uganda’s food system.
Beyond litigation and policy work, she contributes to food policy development, serving on key technical working groups, including the Uganda Food and Nutrition Bill review committee. She is also involved in agroecology and seed sovereignty advocacy, promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
Norah is a member of several professional networks, including the Uganda Law Society (ULS), the East Africa Law Society, and the Agroecology Legal Network for Africa (ALENAF).
Through her multifaceted engagements, she strives to advocate for food justice, public health, and equitable legal frameworks in Uganda and beyond.
