In a significant step toward institutional collaboration, CEFROHT held a strategic meeting with the Deputy Solicitor General to discuss joint efforts in promoting and advancing the right to adequate food in Uganda. The meeting focused on exploring how legal and policy reforms can be leveraged to make the right to adequate food a lived reality for all Ugandans. The discussion covered potential areas of collaboration, such as capacity building, developing legislation, and providing technical support for legal drafting in view of international human rights commitments related to food and nutrition security.
The Deputy Solicitor General committed to collaborating with CEFROHT to strengthen these areas through progressive legal reform and institutional capacitybuilding.
This partnership marks a milestone in CEFROHT’s broader mission to ensure that the right to adequate food is recognized, protected, and enforced in Uganda through policy and legislation. Moving forward, CEFROHT and the Office of the Solicitor General are engaging in consultations to translate these discussions into concrete actions that advance food justice and strengthen the country’s legal framework for sustainable livelihoods.
