Martin Wambona is a dedicated Programs Associate at the Center for Food and Adequate Living Rights (CEFROHT), where he plays a pivotal role in overseeing the organization’s programs, activities, and reporting processes. He ensures effective communication with key stakeholders while employing legal tools to advance land rights, food security, food safety, nutrition, livelihood rights, and environmental health.

Combining strong leadership, strategic thinking, and hands-on management skills, he drives the organization’s mission to promote Food Justice. His work is characterized by a commitment to sustainable development and human rights, ensuring that marginalized communities have access to essential resources and legal protections.

Beyond his role at CEFROHT, Martin serves as a research fellow with the Sustainable Waste-Based Insect Farming Technologies (SWIFT) initiative and contributes to Solution-Oriented Research for Development, a program supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). His research focuses on innovative and sustainable solutions to food security and environmental challenges.

Before joining CEFROHT, Martin implemented impactful projects with various organizations, including the Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation-Uganda, TASO-Uganda, Child Fund, Palliative Care Association of Uganda, Challenge Fund, and the Agency for Cooperation in Research and Development-Uganda. His diverse experience in program management and community development has equipped him with a deep understanding of grassroots challenges and solutions in health, livelihoods, and social justice.

Martin Wambona continues to be a driving force in advocating for equitable access to food, land, and environmental rights, leveraging his expertise to create lasting change.
